About Corporate Training Horizon

Discover the story, mission, and people behind twelve years of transformative corporate training across Canada.

Our story

Corporate Training Horizon was founded in 2013 by a small group of learning and development professionals who shared a common frustration: too many corporate training programs were generic, forgettable, and disconnected from real business outcomes. They believed that training should be an investment with measurable returns — not a checkbox exercise.

Starting from a modest office in Laval, Quebec, the founding team began designing custom workshops for local businesses in manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services. Word spread quickly. Within two years, the company had expanded its instructor roster and was serving clients across the greater Montreal area and into Ontario.

By 2018, Corporate Training Horizon had established partnerships with several industry associations and had developed a proprietary instructional design methodology called the Horizon Framework. This approach combines adult learning theory, behavioural science, and practical business application to create programs that participants remember and use long after the training ends.

Today, we are a team of over thirty professionals — facilitators, instructional designers, coaches, and operations specialists — serving organizations of all sizes across Canada. Our training centre in Laval features modern classrooms, breakout spaces, and video production facilities, while our virtual delivery capabilities allow us to reach teams anywhere in the world.

Our mission and values

Our mission is simple but ambitious: to help every organization build a workforce that is skilled, confident, and ready for whatever comes next. We achieve this by designing learning experiences that are relevant, engaging, and grounded in evidence-based methodologies. Every program we deliver is measured against clear performance indicators agreed upon with our clients before the first session begins.

Impact over activity

We measure success by what changes in the workplace, not by the number of hours spent in a classroom. Every program includes defined learning outcomes and a post-training evaluation plan so our clients can see the tangible return on their investment.

Customization by default

No two organizations are alike, and we believe their training should not be either. We start every engagement with a thorough needs assessment and tailor content, examples, and exercises to the client's industry, culture, and strategic priorities.

Respect and inclusion

We create psychologically safe learning environments where every participant feels valued and heard. Our facilitators are trained in inclusive facilitation techniques and our content is reviewed for cultural sensitivity and accessibility.

Continuous improvement

We practise what we preach. Our team participates in ongoing professional development, attends industry conferences, and regularly updates our curriculum to reflect the latest research, tools, and best practices in adult education and organizational development.

Our journey so far

From a three-person startup to a nationally recognized training provider, every milestone reflects our commitment to continuous growth and client impact. Here are some of the key moments that have shaped Corporate Training Horizon into the organization it is today.

2013 — Founded in Laval

Nathalie Gagnon and Marc-André Pelletier launch Corporate Training Horizon with a focus on leadership development for small and mid-size enterprises in the greater Montreal area. The first year sees twelve client engagements and overwhelmingly positive feedback.

2015 — Expanded to Ontario

Growing demand leads to partnerships with organizations in Toronto and Ottawa. The team grows to ten full-time professionals and the company moves into a larger office space with its own dedicated training room.

2018 — Horizon Framework launched

Marc-André formalizes the company's instructional design methodology into the Horizon Framework, a structured approach that integrates needs analysis, experiential learning design, and post-training reinforcement into every program.

2020 — Virtual delivery excellence

When the pandemic disrupts in-person training worldwide, Corporate Training Horizon pivots rapidly to virtual delivery. The team invests in studio-quality video equipment, interactive online tools, and facilitator training for digital environments — emerging as a leader in virtual corporate education.

2022 — 2,000th professional trained

A major milestone: the company celebrates having trained over two thousand professionals across more than 150 organizations. Client satisfaction surveys consistently show a 97 percent or higher approval rating.

2025 — Looking ahead

With a growing team of over thirty professionals and an expanding catalogue of programs, Corporate Training Horizon is focused on deepening its expertise in AI literacy, sustainability leadership, and inclusive workplace culture — the skills that will define the next decade of work.
